Main Function & Scope

Based in Edinburgh or Lisbon offices and reporting to the Operational Asset Performance Manager. The Project Manager is the link between the teams that are coordinating various business projects to achieve Ventient business goals.


The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of a group of projects and programs, as well as to develop the tools and reporting needed for the projects, that will lead Ventient to achieve Upper Quartile Performance in our assets and portfolios. The Project Manager is responsible for implementing strong and agile PMO practices, setting robust governance models, ensure all team are committed with the program and measure and monitor projects development.


Key Responsibilities

Project and Programs setup

  • Engage with the relevant stakeholders from all functional areas withing Operations and work across departments identifying and setting up the roadmap of projects to develop
  • Define a program and project governance model, change management process, risk management and communication stream
  • Define and setup project management methodology based on agile PMO practices
  • Define and standardize project information and scope within different areas
  • Support in the definition of the projects, setting scopes, boundaries and interdependencies between projects and defining roles, responsibilities, ownership, and priorities
  • Ensure that the major deliverables and milestones are defined for each project
  • Work with all areas setting the project teams and workstreams for each of the projects


Project and Programs Management

  • Manage and oversee the implementation of the programs and all the projects
  • Review and follow-up milestones and KPIs, identify and report risks and issues and promote the definition of mitigation actions
  • Promote project development with the project teams, confirming that scope, objectives, deliverables, and milestones are being met
  • Critically monitor the development of tasks in different areas and geographies, tracking project’s most relevant information, promoting dependencies to be resolved and that priorities are being followed
  • Ensure the report and projects regular update using the developed templates and tools to monitor the projects
  • Follow change management and communication streams


Project Management tools and Reporting

  • Definition and deployment of the most appropriate agile and collaborative tools to manage, monitor and report program and projects development
  • Develop project plan and management templates to be followed by all teams
  • Promote the tools adoption by all teams
  • Develop program and projects monitoring dashboards for integrated view of roadmap and ongoing project status (Power BI)
  • Work with the teams in reports and KPI definition and build the identified reports to track projects development

Relevant Experience

Essential

  • Experience in successfully leading multidisciplinary projects and programs to on-time, on-schedule and within budget close
  • Experience of working in a PMO, Project or Programme environment on high priority, complex, business and IT programmes and projects.
  • Experience of producing high quality documentation, briefing papers, reports, and presentations.
  • Excellent experience in Agile, SCRUM, SDLC or Waterfall.
  • Experience leading, motivating and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources
  • Experience working both independently and, in a team oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrated communication skills


Desirable

  • Experience of managing projects across with multiple parties / countries
  • Integration of processes between multiple areas within the company


Education & Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, computer science, business management or equivalent.
  • Driver license
  • Fluent in English (required)


Desirable

  • Fluency in Portuguese
  • One or more recognised programme or project management qualifications, e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, P3O, APM, PMQ, PMP or PMI.


Software Programmes

  • Proficiency in Office 365 productivity apps
  • Good knowledge of Office 365 collaboration tools
  • Power BI
  • Project management tools such as Jira, DevOps, Click-Up


Desirable

  • Knowledge in SharePoint, Power Apps or Power Automate is considered a plus
  • MS Project
