Main Function & Scope
This role will be provide commercial contract management and supplier development processes within the Ventient portfolio. The role will sit within the Commercial & Supply Chain team and will be responsible for conducting tender activity from time to time to support the Procurement Managers. The role will ensure alignment of the ERP system with contract implementation and contractual spend call off under framework agreements.
Location
This role can be based in any of our offices across the UK/Portugal/Spain, where we also offer an Agile Working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement & Contract Management
- Support the development and ongoing implementation of contract management processes across a range of goods and services across the global Ventient business locations in Edinburgh, Lisbon, Madrid and any future locations.
- Leading the end to end commercial contract cycle involving procurement, contract implementation, management and renewal phases of contracts.
- Working closely with Procurement Managers to support preparation of detailed scope for invitation to tender documents, working closely with the legal team to determine the most appropriate form of contract.
- Provide active commercial support to the team members on procurement activity related to wind farm operations
- Support line manager in increasing contractual governance, compliance and risk reduction against annual spend. Develop and improve ethical and responsible sourcing to align environmental, price and quality factors into a best practice sourcing model for the category spend.
- Conduct contract negotiations, supplier onboarding, ongoing performance management of critical contracts to ensure that the business receives value.
- Arrange and drive meetings with key suppliers to manage commercial risks, assess claims made by either party through dedicated contract management routes.
- Develop alternative suppliers for various categories to increase supply chain assurance and secure future competition for spend.
- Support, where appropriate, the contracting strategy for spares and materials procurement to optimise costs across various Ventient spend categories.
- Reporting
- Providing routine reporting of contract performance for categories managed to the Procurement Managers and Commercial & Supply Chain Director.
- Create and maintain a comprehensive Contracts Register to review and maintain contracts for all relevant spend categories.
- Review spends across all categories managed and identify opportunities for cost efficiencies. Develop procurement strategies to deliver the efficiencies within defined timeframes.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide commercial and contractual support to business teams, which includes HR, IT for the negotiation and procurement of IT goods, services and contracts, internal administration, Legal and Asset Management teams.
- Develop and grow relationships with key external suppliers for all categories managed.
- Outside of the wind farms, support the procurement of other key purchases for Ventient, working with the functional teams to ensure the efficient procurement of key items, supported with the appropriate contractual arrangements to protect Ventient.
